Steward's Report
Mr. D. Boots the representative of Vintage Storm was fined the sum of $50 for his late arrival to kennel the greyhound by the appointed closing time pursuant to GAR 31(1).
Emgee Sprinter was slow to begin. Crackerjack Roy, Lethal Levi and Road Side Assist collided o the first turn checking Road Side Assist. Lethal Levi and Happy Tails collided approaching the second turn checking Happy Tails. Kraken Pace lost ground approaching the second turn. Emgee Sprinter and Kraken Pace collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Emgee Sprinter and Kraken Pace collided on the home turn. Seabrook Gem and Lethal Levi collided entering the home straight. Emgee Sprinter and Kraken Pace collided in the home straight. Happy Tails raced wide in the home straight. Vintage Storm checked off Lethal Levi approaching the winning post.
Emgee Sprinter underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.
Kraken Pace underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left torn nail and an abrasion to the right hind paw, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr K.Eyles, the handler of Kraken Pace and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the back straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr K.Eyles, the handler of Kraken Pace and acting under GAR 75 (1) Stewards directed Mr Eyles to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Kraken Pace in the event which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
6 June 2019:
Mr Eyles notified Stewards today and stated that Kraken Pace was found to be lame when emptying this morning. Stewards noted Mr Eyles comments and took no further action.
