Steward's Report
Alf Mulwee and Zambora Tara were slow to begin. Hillbilly Diva and Play Along collided soon after the start. Zambora Tara and Play Along collided approaching the first turn severely checking Zambora Tara. Alf Mulwee and Ray Shoesmith collided on the first turn checking Ray Shoesmith. Side Hustle visibly eased entering the home straight. Side Hustle visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Side Hustle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Trainer Mr T.Scott declined to have the greyhound revetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Scott, the trainer of Side Hustle regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Side Hustle was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Scott pleaded guilty to the charge, Side Hustle is suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Zambora Tara underwent post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right torn dew claw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Play Along underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left hock, left triangle and left hip. A stand down period of 28 days was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Play Along, winner of the event.
