Steward's Report
Lukey Fields was slow to begin. Lukey Fields checked off Newfire Rosie approaching the first turn. Dark Eco and Piccolina collided on the second turn. Newfire Rosie eased on the home turn and collided with Violent as a result. Newfire Rosie and Lukey Fields collided entering the home straight causing Lukey Fields to become unbalanced and collide with Violent.
Lukey Fields was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 10, it was reported that the greyhound sustained right thigh soreness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke Mr. D. Knocker, the representative of Lukey Fields regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. After viewing the official footage, acting on their own observations and hearing a submission from Mr. D. Knocker, stewards took no further action.
Newfire Rosie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to it's left monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(5), the stewards charged Newfire Rosie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted.
