Midnight Swim went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Stewie Deeds crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Giggling Gerty, Figure Eight and Inga Assalt. Manderley crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Inga Assalt. Una Star checked off Giggling Gerty approaching the first turn. Stewie Deeds and Figure Eight collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Stewie Deeds and Una Star collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.

Midnight Swim underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left metatarsals. No stand down period was imposed.

Come On Eleanor was quick to begin. Crash Landing was slow to begin, Bad Ones was very slow to begin (4 lengths).

Young Jebrynah and Come On Eleanor collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking Humble Inquiry, Come On Eleanor, Aston Vino and severely checking Young Jebrynah. Silver Sultan checked off Crash Landing on the home turn. Young Jebrynah and Humble Inquiry collided on the home turn, checking Humble Inquiry. Amber's Dolly and Crash Landing collided entering the home straight, checking Amber's Dolly, Crash Landing, Humble Inquiry and Young Jebrynah. Come On Eleanor checked off Crash Landing in the home straight. Silver Sultan and Bad Ones collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post, checking Silver Sultan. Bad Ones failed to pursue the lure with due committment in the home straight. 

Bad Ones underwent a post race veterinary examination and no injury was detected. Trainer Mr. J. Hetherton declined to have the greyhound re-examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Hetherton, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Bad Ones was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hetherton pleaded guilty to the charge, Bad Ones is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Inquries will be undertaken with the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC NSW) regarding the eligbility of Bad Ones to compete in this event. Bad Ones has been stood down from racing until the completion of such inquiries pursuant to GAR 92 (5) (a).

Supplementary Report 

GRV Stewards today (19 April 2019) concluded an inquiry into the eligibility of Bad Ones to race since incurring a marring offence under GAR 69 at Muswellbrook NSW, on 24 March 2019. Evidence was taken from Victorian Trainer Mr Justin Hetherton and information supplied by NSW Greyhound Racing Officials.  It was established and is not in dispute, that Bad Ones marred at Muswellbrook on 24 March 2019 and was penalised under GAR 69 by NSW Stewards. The mandatory penalty for such offence was issued on a first offence basis; that being a 28-day suspension at Muswellbrook and one (1) satisfactory trial before racing again. There was no such evidence of the completion of any satisfactory trial by Bad Ones either before leaving NSW or since coming to Victoria. Due to an administrative error in NSW, the penalty from 24 March 2019 was not recorded into the racing systems (Oz Chase) and as such, Bad Ones was not prevented from being nominated and raced in Victoria: By virtue of Bad Ones not completing the satisfactory trial component of GAR 69, the Stewards of GRV deem that Bad Ones was ineligible to compete in this event. As a result, Bad Ones has been disqualified from this event, the results, placings and prizemoney have been amended accordingly, in accordance with GAR 64. Bad Ones must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.

Snakes Alive was slow to begin.

Foul Snooker checked off Super Free soon after the start. Foul Snooker and Pookie Smurf collided on the first turn, checking Pookie Smurf. Snakes Alive faltered and lost ground approaching the first turn. Crackerjack Soc and Aerolithology collided on the first turn, checking Aerolithology. Super Free checked off Foul Snooker on the first turn. Aerolithology clipped the heels of Heart Beats True on the first turn, severely checking Aerolithology and Seasons. Aerolithology and Seasons fell as a result. 

Seasons underwent a post-race veterinary examination and and was found to have fractured all four left metacarpals. Seasons was humanely euthanised.

Aerolithology underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a scapula fracture right foreleg. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Snakes Alive underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10. Snakes Alive was found to have a groin injury to the left hind leg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed

Sweet Ambush underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards conferred with the On Track Veterinarian who confirmed that Sweet Ambush's racing action was consistent with the injury detected. As a result, Stewards took no action against Sweet Ambush's racing manners.
