Steward's Report

Found In Quartz and Broken Axle were slow to begin. 

Honestly Bob and Sandy Lagoon collided approaching the first turn.  Popowski checked off Broken Axle approaching the first turn.  Pyrenees Inferno brushed the running rail on the first turn.  Broken Axle and Found In Quartz collided entering the home straight.  Honestly Bob and Pyrenees Inferno collided in the home straight.  Broken Axle eased in the home straight and again approaching the winning post, checking Found In Quartz. 

A post-race sample was taken from Broken Axle- the winner of the event.

Broken Axle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. 

Stewards spoke to Mr W. Donlon, the handler of Broken Axle regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight and approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Broken Axle was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment throughout the event. Mr. Donlon pleaded not guilty to the charge, Broken Axle was found guilty and suspended for 12 months all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c) before any future nomination will be accepted.
