Steward's Report
Got Some Zip and Tex Burger were quick to begin.
Zafonic Trevor and Crackerjack Tys collided soon after the start. Crackerjack Tys and Broken Rules collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Broken Rules lost ground from approaching the first turn and finished tailed off as a result.
Broken Rules underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Post-race samples were taken from Whipper's Chance
Tex Burger – Not raced for in excess of 3 months due to a change of kennel. New declared weight of 31.3kgs, last raced at 32.8kgs. Trainer Travis Monaghan was questioned regarding the improved performance. Mr Monaghan stated that he was happy with the greyhounds lead up performances and that the greyhound had trialed well at Geelong. Mr Monaghan was expecting a forward showing tonight. Stewards noted Mr Monaghan's explanation and will investigate the betting activity in this event following a significant market fluctuation for the greyhound. A post race sample was taken from Tex Burger.
