Stewards dispensed with the Hot Weather Policy prior to the running of this event as there was a substantial drop in temperature (25.0 C).
Stevie Gee and Swift Abbey were slow to begin. Split Chic and Vintage Storm collided soon after the start. Split Chic, Vintage Storm and Sukhoi Su collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Split Chic which brushed the running rail as a result. Vintage Storm, Sukhoi Su and Violet Blue collided on the first turn checking Violet Blue. Tat Barbie and Violet Blue collided approaching the home turn checking Violet Blue. Stevie Gee and Tat Barbie collided on the home turn checking Tat Barbie.
Split Chic underwent a post-race veterinary examination and and no apparent injury could be detected.
