In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.1 degrees.

Hawesome was slow to begin. Zafonic Zoom and Level Neville collided soon after the start. Knocka Bott, Midnight Gieger and Kiewa River Run collided on the first turn checking Midnight Ginger. Golden Moon, Midnight Gieger and Level Neville collided on the first turn checking Level Neville. Level Neville and Hawesome collided on the first turn checking Hawesome. Zafonic Zoom and Level Neville collided in the home straight checking Zafonic Zoom.

Road Side Assist – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is resuming racing following a change in kennels.

A pre-race sample was taken from Briar Jet.

Soda Geoff, Jaggered Edge and Briar Jet were slow to begin. Road Side Assist, Jaggered Edge and Soda Goeff collided on the first turn. Briar Jet raced wide in the home straight.

Luca's Entity underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the right foreleg and an abrasion on the nose. A 14 stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Luca's Entity - the winner of the event.

Midnight Mick was quick to begin. Buckle Up Eve was slow to begin. Buckle Up Eve tired over the concluding stages.

Buckle Up Eve underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervico-thoracic injury and a spike wound to the right hindleg. A 7 stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Senor Asher.

Arlecchino and Blue Odessa were quick to begin. Tana's Angel and Zharnel collided soon after the start checking Zharnel. Annaley Flash and Broulee Miss collided approaching the first turn. Arlecchino, Blue Odessa and Tana's Angel collided on the first turn checking Arlecchino which collided with Broulee Miss causing Broulee Miss to fall. Annaley Flash crossed to the rail in the home straight checking Senor Asher. Bob's Hammer and Zharnel collided in  the home straight.

Broulee Miss underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a suspected right hock fracture/dislocation. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr M. D'Angelo the handler of Arlecchino who placed the greyhound in the incorrect kennel following the event and issued him a warning.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute and broadcast on Sky 2 due to operational procedures.

Blue Magoo and Emgee Sprinter were slow to begin. Kraken Mazing and Nimble Foot and soon after the start checking Nimble Foot. Proven Strudel, Blue Magoo and Kraken Mazing collided approaching the first turn checking Proven Strudel. Blue Magoo and Kraken Mazing collided on the first turn checking Kraken Mazing. Kraken Mazing and Nimble Foot collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Nimble Foot and Emgee Sprinter collided in the home straight.

The incorrect race number was displayed (6) due to a techincal malfunction with the semaphore board.

Jan's Star, Major Gas and Groucho collided soon after the start checking Jan's Star. All Inn Youi, Major Gas and Groucho collided approaching the first turn. All Inn Youi and Major Gas collided on the first turn checking All Inn Youi. Groucho and Chase The Nugget collided entering the home straight. 

Major Gas underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. 

Stewards dispensed with the Hot Weather Policy prior to the running of this event as there was a substantial drop in temperature (25.0 C).

Stevie Gee and Swift Abbey were slow to begin. Split Chic and Vintage Storm collided soon after the start. Split Chic, Vintage Storm and Sukhoi Su collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Split Chic which brushed the running rail as a result. Vintage Storm, Sukhoi Su and Violet Blue collided on the first turn checking Violet Blue. Tat Barbie and Violet Blue collided approaching the home turn checking Violet Blue. Stevie Gee and Tat Barbie collided on the home turn checking Tat Barbie. 

Split Chic underwent a post-race veterinary examination and and no apparent injury could be detected. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Molly's Money.

Wild Bandit and Liberal Jones soon after the start. Janray Rastus and Kraken Hero collided approaching the first turn. Wild Bandit and Janray Rastus collided on the first turn. Liberal Jones and Molly's Money collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Molly's Money. Janray Rastus raced wide in the home straight.

Golden Aura and Chook Richards collided soon after the start severely checking Chook Richards. Pizza Shop, Burrawonga Miss and Kiewa River Flo collided approaching the first turn. Burrawonga Miss and Kiewa River Flo collided on the first turn. Whipdance and Burrawonga Miss collided approaching the home turn.

Stewards issued Mr W. Leitch with a warning after he attempted to place Kiewa River Flo into the incorrect box. 

Missy Marlus – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from being seasonal.

Meeting Comments:

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s event. Stewards were satisfied that all transport (100%) had adhered to the Hot Weather and Transport Policy.
