Stewards spoke to Mr C Morris-Flynn, the trainer of Banana Honeybear regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Banana Honeybear last raced on 2nd December 2018. Mr Morris-Flynn stated that the greyhound had a change of kennel. Mr C. Morris-Flynn, also declared a new weight of 29.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Banana Honeybear last raced at 30.9kg.

Gentleman Jock and Miss Minjee were slow to begin.

Banana Honeybear underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left calf. No stand down period was imposed.

Rocky Two, Nasty Rach, Claretown Ralph and Smooth Roster were slow to begin.

Rocky Two, Nasty Rach and Claretown Ralph collided soon after the start. Raylene Bale and Bassamos collided approaching the first turn. Claretown Ralph crossed to the rails approaching the first turn checking Nasty Rach And Rocky Two. Claretown Ralph contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Nasty Rach galloped on the heels of Bassamos approaching the home turn, twice, checking both greyhounds. Nasty Rach and Bassamos collided on the home turn. Merriview Mach stumbled entering the home straight. Claretown Ralph and Bassamos collided in the home straight.

Tee Tee was quick to begin. Crackerjack Tys was slow to begin.

Blue Cigar checked off Tee Tee on the first turn. Blue Cigar and Callinish Hana collided approaching the home turn checking Callinish Hana. 

Phoebe's Angel was quick to begin. Dee Jakit was slow to begin.

Blue Phantom and Where's Success collided on the first turn. Dee Jakit galloped on the heels of Major Style on the home turn.

Wicked Reason was quick to begin. Zanzeedoo, Laile Brobio and Tribal Striker were slow to begin.

Billy Swagger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Blue Gene Bowie raced wide on the home turn.

Vancouver Star – Late scratching at 7.52am when Ms. S. Galea reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Swift Abbey – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a seasonal.

Shamrock Valley and Tyche Onyx were quick to begin. Zipping Waldo and Swift Abbey were slow to begin.

Zipping Waldo galloped on the heels of Tyche Onyx on the first turn, checking Zipping Waldo, Tyche Onyx and Giant Bale. Giant Bale checked off Zipping Waldo approaching the home turn. Shamrock Valley raced wide in the home straight.

Miss Oreo Mac and Why Not Dean were quick to begin. Damo's Pineapple, Drought Breaker and Neb's Horse were slow to begin.

Hawkie checked off Miss Oreo Mac soon after the start. Miss Oreo Mac checked off Hahn Road on the first turn checking Misty Warrior, Damo's Pineapple and Hawkie. Hawkie checked off Damo's Pineapple approaching the home turn. Damo's Pineapple and Misty Warrior collided approaching the home turn. Neb's Horse galloped on Why Not Dean approaching the home turn. Hawkie and Damo's Pineapple collided approaching the winning post.

Don Quixote was quick to begin. Hardaway Outlaw was very slow to begin (4 lengths). Steve's Uggboot and Chief Command were slow to begin.

Tashendo faltered approaching the first turn and tailed off as a result. Five Times Table and Don Quixote collided on the first turn. 

Hardaway Outlaw underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the head. No stand down period was imposed.

Tashendo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left foreleg elbow, monkey muscle and left hind groin. A 14 stand down period was imposed.

Aston Boss underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind thigh injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Jiggly Wiggly – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory trial as the greyhound has not competed in an event for in excess of six months due to change of trainer.  Weighing 27.0kg and beginning from box 3, Jiggly Wiggly completed the 390met. trial distance in a time of 22.60. Jiggly Wiggly placed 3rd in a field of 5 starters, beaten by 5.75 lengths. Jiggly Wiggly has been cleared to race.

Magic Will– Performed a Stewards Satisfactory trial as the greyhound was stood down from racing at the Ballarat for Fail to chase (by reason of injury). Weighing 27.6kg and beginning from box 8, Magic Will completed the 390met. trial distance in a time of 22.60. Magic Will placed 4th in a field of 5 starters, beaten by 6.25 lengths. Magic Will has been cleared to race at all tracks.
