Steward's Report
Super Fay and Alice Sprung were slow to begin.
Alice Sprung and Miss Cheekiness collided soon after the start. Chopping Spuds checked off Delta's Tiara approaching the 200m mark. Splish Splash checked off Alice Sprung at the 200m mark. Chopping Spuds checked off Shooter's Ajax at the 150m mark and crossed to the rail colliding with Alice Sprung. Delta's Tiara and Lightning Seven collided at the 150m mark and again at the 100m mark, checking Delta's Tiara. Shooter's Ajax and Delta's Tiara collided approaching the winning post. Splish Splash eased approaching the winning post.
Splish Splash was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr G. Graham declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr G Graham, the trainer of the greyhound Splish Splash regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Splish Splash with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Graham pleaded guilty to the charge, Splish Splash was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
