Mr G Hammerstein, trainer of Blue Squirrel declared a new weight of 30.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Blue Squirrel last raced at 28.8kg. Stewards spoke to Mr G Hammerstein the trainer of Blue Squirrel regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Blue Squirrel last raced on 3rd August 2018. Mr G Hammerstein stated that the greyhound had been spelled.
Stewards spoke to Mr D Burge, the trainer of Tiny Octane regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Tiny Octane last raced on 13th August 2018. Mr D Burge stated that the greyhound had been spelled.
Blue Squirrel and Soeztoc collided soon after the start. Blue Squirrel, Soeztoc and Swift Spur collided at the 250m mark. Blue Squirrel checked off Tiny Octane at the 200m mark. Tiny Octane and Soeztoc collided at the 150m mark. Tiny Octane, Soeztoc and Swift Spur collided at the 100m mark checking 3.
Tiny Octane was vetted and after being re-vetted following race 6, it was reported that the greyhound had a left monkey muscle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
