Heat Affected meeting. At the commencement of kenneling, the outside temperature was 33.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. 

Prior to race 1 the outside temperature was 36.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.8 degrees.

Stewards delayed the 'All Clear' to this event in order to view the replays after the retractable safety strap was accidently dropped by the Starter prior to the boxes opening. After viewing the offical replays and acting on their own observations Stewards were comfortably satisified that no greyhound had their chances materially prejudiced by the incident and as such the 'All Clear' was declared.

Winslow Lodge was slow to begin.

Limburg Sprite checked off Expresso Love soon after the start. Maina Honey and Blackpool Flyer collided on the first turn checking Blackpool Flyer.

Stewards opened and finalised an inquiry into the circumstances of the transport used to convey Blackpool Flyer to Geelong today. Evidence was taken from Trainer Mr D. Kee after Stewards were supplied information from the GRV Welfare Inspectors who were attending in the car-park today at Geelong. After hearing submissions, the Stewards issued a charge to Mr Kee under GAR 86 (ag) for failing to comply with a policy adopted by the Controlling Body in that Mr Kee transported Blackpool Flyer in a vehicle that was not air-conditioned, contrary to the GRV Transport Policy for Hot Weather effected meetings. Mr Kee pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250. The Stewards would like to remind all participants that the requirements of the Hot Weather and Transport Policies are non-negotiable and sanctions will apply for non-compliance issues. Save for Blackpool Flyer being passed fit to race, the sanction/fine would be manifestly higher. 

Prior to race 2 the outside temperature was 37.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.4 degrees.

This race was delayed approximately one minute due to track staff removing plastic from the track.

Mr M Lloyd, trainer of Smart Sailor, declared a new weight of 29.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Smart Sailor last raced at 28.7kg.

Bets And Beers and Showboat Capers were slow to begin.

Whiter Shade and Smart Sailor collided soon after the start. Broken Rules and Smart Sailor collided approaching the first turn checking Broken Rules. Smart Sailor and Bets And Beers collided entering the home straight.

Neb's Shark was a late scratching at 2.06pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr K Ward was fined the sum of $100.

Pandora's Glory and Rosie Yaala collided soon after the start. Aston Vino, Rosie Yaala and Roman Renegade collided on first turn checking Roman Renegade. Aston Vino, Rosie Yaala and Zafonic Trevor collided on the first turn checking Rosie Yaala. 

Zafonic Tevor was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a dew claw injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Limburg Will and Crackerjack Nev were slow to begin.

Butch Regis, He's Alexis, Dyna Virion, Got The Edge and Dyna Ringo collided soon after the start checking Dyna Virion and Got The Edge. Butch Regis and He's Alexis collided approaching the first turn. Got The Edge galloped on the heels of Dyna Ringo on the first turn checking Got The Edge. Butch Regis checked off Got The Edge on the first turn and collided with Dyna Virion.

Prior to race 5 the outside temperature was 26.7  degrees and the kennel temperature was 20.1 degrees.

The start of this race was delayed due to technical difficulties with the photo finish camera.

Zanthre Allen, Raine Allen and Southwood Ace were slow to begin.

Zanthre Allen, Miracles Happen and Conde collided soon after the start checking Miracles Happen. Liscoyle Lass, Zanthre Allen, Conde and Southwood Ace collided on the first turn checking Conde, Southwood Ace and Miracles Happen. Miracles Happen checked off Southwood Ace on the second turn. Miracles Happen raced wide on the third turn. 

Liscoyle Lass was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

This race was delayed approximately two minutes due to track staff removing plastic and to remove a rabbit from the track.

Cruising Betty and Urana Smacko collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Monkey Mite and Katlin collided on the first turn checking Monkey Mite, Renaldo, Cruising Betty and Urana Smacko. Kissable checked off Dyna Zapto approaching the home turn. Monkey Mite and Renaldo collided approaching the home turn. Kissable and Cruising Betty collided on the home turn. Kissable checked off Cruising Betty in the home straight.

Travel Easy checked off Jean Girard soon after the start. Fortnight Addict and One Step Forward collided on the first turn checking Yep Yep and Jean Girard and severely checking Fortnight Addict and One Step Forward. Fortnight Addict and Rocket Jax raced wide in the home straight. 

Prior to race 8 the outside temperature was 24.9  degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.8 degrees.

Ride High, Tiggerlong Nosey and Bring The Spring collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Tiggerlong Nosey. Ride High checked off Spider Regis on the first turn. Bring The Spring raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Three Toots was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a shoulder muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Keith Kelly, the trainer of Deacon Downs regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Deacon Downs last raced on August 31st . Mr Kelly stated that the greyhound has had an extended spell.

Mr K Kelly, trainer of Deacon Downs declared a new weight of 35.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Deacon Downs last raced at 34.1kg.

Prior to race 9 the outside temperature was 25.2  degrees and the kennel temperature was 20.0 degrees.

This race was delayed approximately two minutes due to track staff removing a rabbit from the track.

Deacon Downs, My Raphael and Roger That collided soon after the start checking My Raphael, Roger That. Deacon Downs, Roger That and Wok Djay collided on the home turn checking Roger That and Wok Djay and severely checking Deacon Downs which pulled up as a result. 

Deacon Downs was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fracture to the hock, and was humanely euthanased.

Octo Flash, Total Mayhem and Sin And Spin collided soon after the start. Bela Natali, Octo Flash, Total Mayhem, Sin And Spin and Charlie Bear collided approaching the first turn checking Bela Natali, Octo Flash, Total Mayhem and Sin And Spin. Bela Natali, Total Mayhem and Sin And Spin collided on the first turn checking Total Mayhem. Bela Natali checked off Sin And Spin approaching the home turn. Miss Dangerwood raced wide in the home straight.

El Grand Richo galloped on the heels of Due Fratteli approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Eden Lass checked off Bide Your Time on the first turn, checking Due Fratteli. Sky Rising, Eden Lass and Due Fratteli collided on the home turn causing Eden Lass to fall as a result. Eden Lass was subsequently examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and found to be deceased with a spinal fracture. Sky Rising and Due Fratteli collided in the home straight. Bide Your Time and El Grand Richo collided approaching the winning post.

Prior to race 12 the outside temperature was 23.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 20.1 degrees.

Quen Bale checked off Dyna Bella soon after the start. Dyna Diedre galloped on the heels of Riverdale Danger on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Aston Jewel checked off Miami Fernando on the home turn. Cavalry Rose and Miami Fernando collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Rajasthan trialled over the 460m from box 6, weight 33.4kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 26.12, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.75L. Rajasthan was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Mayhem Storm trialled over the 460m from box 8, weight 33.0kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 26.12, the greyhound was beaten a margin of 6L. Mayhem Storm was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Zipping Murphy trialled over the 460m from box 1 weight 32.8kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 26.12, the greyhound was beaten a margin of 0.75L. Zipping Murphy was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Watching You trialled over the 460m from box 3, weight 31.3kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 26.12 the greyhound was beaten a margin of 1.25L. Watching You was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr K Tichett, the trainer of Jim's Hotel regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Jim's Hotel last raced on 8th March 2018. Mr Tichett stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from a injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Jim's Hotel trialled over the 400m from box 2, weight 28.0kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 23.29, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.25L. Jim's Hotel was Cleared.
