Steward's Report
The start of this race was delayed by approximately 1.5 minutes due to an incorrect rug being placed on Mr Pendles.
Dewana Result, Zipping Hayne, Mr. Pendles and Rapid Rock collided soon after the start checking Mr. Pendles. Dewana Result, Rapid Rock and Zipping Hayne collided on the first turn checking Zipping Hayne which lost ground.
Zipping Hayne was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the left hock, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Parade Steward, Mr Ian Whitnall after the greyhound Mr Pendles was paraded in the incorrect racing rug . Mr Whitnall was reminded of his responsibilities in ensuring all greyhounds and handlers are displaying the correct number. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Gail Saunders the trainer of Mr. Pendles in regards to the greyhound being paraded in the incorrect racing rug. Stewards noted Mrs Saunders explanation and issued her with a warning.
The scanning official was spoken to in relation to the incorrect rug being placed on Mr. Pendles. His explanation was noted this matter will be referred to his manager.
