A pre race sample was taken from Sirius Matters.
Zipping Eleanor and Sirius Matters were quick to begin. Skeeta Storm, New Sense and Brindle Delight were slow to begin.
New Sense and Skeeta Storm collided soon after the start checking Skeeta Storm. Dyna Jules galloped on the heels of Phoebe's Angel on the first turn which collided with Zipping Eleanor and Sirius Matters. Sirius Matters, New Sense and Skeeta Storm collided approaching the home turn. Skeeta Storm and Phoebe's Angel collided entering the home straight. New Sense and Playlord collided in the home straight.
New Sense was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right monkey muscle and left foreleg toe injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards issued a warning to Ms M. Lithgow, the trainer of New Sense regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
