Zipping Clare and Sooki La Rico collided in the back straight, checking Sooki La Rico. Sooki La Rico and Why Not Kez collided entering the home straight, checking Why Not Kez. Sooki La Rico was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right hindleg hamstrings and quadriceps injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Luckie Karabitsakos, the trainer of the greyhound Sooki La Rico, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Sooki La Rico with marring. Mr Karabitsakos pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sooki La Rico was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
