Steward's Report
Shanalinga was a late scratching at 8.27am due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mr. V Tullio was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card/ weight card were produced for the greyhound Flowing pursuant to GAR 33
Moonie Cyclone, Jessie Fernando and Prancing Turbo was slow to begin. Lil' Miss Willow was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Flowing and Prancing Turbo collided on the first turn. She's Got Bounce checked off Flowing on the first turn. She's Got Bounce checked off Moonie Cyclone entering the back straight. Moonie Cyclone and Flowing collided in the back straight checking Moonie Cyclone. Moonie Cyclone and She's Got Bounce collided on the third turn checking Moonie Cyclone, Lil' Miss Willow and Jessie Fernando. Lil' Miss Willow and Jessie Fernando collided approaching the home turn checking Lil' Miss Willow. Lacko Allen marred Flowing entering the home straight checking Flowing.
Lil' Miss Willow tired over the concluding stages of the event.
She's Got Bounce was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left sesamoid and spike wounds to the left fore foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr G.Turnbull, the representative of She's Got Bounce regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start.
Lacko Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr M.Delbridge,the trainer of the greyhound Lacko Allen regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1)stewards charged Lacko Allen with marring. Mr M.Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Lacko Allen was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a)before any future nomination will be accepted.
Lil' Miss Willow was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
