Steward's Report
Despondent was a late scratching at 7:10pm after it was established that the incorrect greyhound had been presented for this event.
Applied and Kip Moss were quick to begin. Applied and I'll Swap Ya collided soon after the start. Got No Issues crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Kip Moss and Brindle Delight. Applied and Got No Issues collided on the first turn. I'll Swap Ya and Brindle Delight collided in the home straight. Cloncurry Girl and Kip Moss collided approaching the winning post.
I'll Swap Ya was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. I. Newcombe the trainer of I'll Swap Ya regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Ms. N. Lund, trainer regarding the late scratching of Despondent in this event and subsequently charged her with a breach of GAR 31 (1) in that she failed to present the correct greyhound to Stewards at kennelling for this event. Ms. Lund pleaded guilty to the charge. When considering a penalty Stewards took into consideration Ms. Lund's co-operation and guilty plea. Ms. Lund was found guilty and fined the sum of $200.
