Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr J Formosa, the handler of Hit 'N' Split regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hit 'N' Split last raced on 10th May2018. Mr Formosa stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel. Mr Formosa also declared a new weight of 33.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hit 'N' Split last raced at 32.1kg.
Pre-race sample was taken from Nitro Heroine.
Rockin' In, Tricky Trey and Hit 'N' Split collided soon after the start checking Rockin' In and Tricky Trey. Soap checked off Speedway Lass on the first turn. Speedway Lass and Zenstar collided on the first turn. Rockin' In marred Hit 'N' Split in the home straight. Rockin' In, Hit 'N' Split collided several times in the home straight.
Rockin' In was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey and left quadricep, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs J Torr, the trainer of the greyhound Rockin' In regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Rockin' In with marring. Mrs Torr pleaded guilty to the charge, Rockin' In was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
