Mr Alan Pringle, trainer of My Kinda Song, declared a new weight of 31.1 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). My Kinda Song last raced at 32.3 kgs.

Oakvale Magic was quick to begin. Special Drop and Dewana Jayden collided soon after the start. My Kinda Song, Tell Nobody, Sarah Smirnoff, Rumbling, Dewana Jayden and Special Drop collided soon after the start, checking Dewana Jayden, Rumbling, Sarah Smirnoff and Tell Nobody. Rumbling and Sarah Smirnoff collided approaching the first turn, checking Sarah Smirnoff. Rumbling checked off Tell Nobody approaching the first turn.
Sarah Smirnoff was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right foreleg deltoid and latissimus dorsi/trapezius muscles and right hindleg hip injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Following event four - Exhibition trial: - Flying Smart trialled over the 515m from box one, weight 34.1 kgs. The times for the trial were 1st split 5:27 and 2nd split 19:12, and the overall time was 29:75.
