A trial of the GRV endorsed real-time tracking system was conducted throughout today's program.  The racing rugs in all the odd race numbered events were fitted with a location tracking beacon as part of the trial.

Elphaba Oz was quick to begin.  Molly Coaster and Crime Scene were slow to begin.  Miss Zok Dee and Miss Malaysia collided several times soon after the start checking Molly Coaster.  Aston Ranza checked off Elphaba Oz on the third turn.  Molly Coaster and Crime Scene collided several times approaching the home turn.  Mercury Rising checked off Crime Scene on the home turn colliding with Miss Malaysia; Miss Malaysia was checked as a result.  Molly Coaster and Crime Scene collided on the home turn.  Elphaba Oz turned its head, shifted out, visibly eased and collided with Khlo Money on the home turn Mercury Rising and Miss Malaysia collided several times in the home straight.  Elphaba Oz and Khlo Money collided several times in the home straight.

Elphaba Oz was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right monkey muscle and left and right deltoid muscles.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Busuttil, the trainer of the greyhound Elphaba Oz regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Elphaba Oz with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Busuttil pleaded not guilty to the charge.  Elphaba Oz was found guilty and the greyhound was suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Drop The Leash and Poppy Yaala were quick to begin.  I'm Giggling Now checked off Drop The Leash soon after the start.  Romany Girl, Shanlyn Sprite and Wok Fried Yabby collided soon after the start.  Dewana Chat and Wok Fried Yabby collided on the first turn checking Dewana Chat.  I'm Giggling Now and Dewana Chat collided on the first turn.  Drop The Leash checked off Poppy Yaala on the first turn checking Shanlyn Sprite.  I'm Giggling Now checked off Shanlyn Sprite on the second turn.  Poppy Yaala and Shanlyn Sprite collided on the third turn checking Poppy Yaala.  Poppy Yaala faded in the home straight.

Poppy Yaala was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Absolute Breeze was quick to begin.  Faraday was slow to begin.  Wee Zipper and Weblec Nic collided soon after the start.  Wee Zipper and Mighty Josiah collided soon after the start.  George's Fever, Oakvale Magic, Cosa Bona, Wee Zipper and Mighty Josiah collided several times approaching the first turn severely checking Wee Zipper.  Cosa Bona galloped on the heels of Mighty Josiah on the first turn.  Oakvale Magic and Mighty Josiah collided on the first turn.  Faraday and Oakvale Magic collided on the first turn.  Wee Zipper checked off Cosa Bona on the first turn.  Faraday checked off Weblec Nic approaching the home turn and collided with George's Fever.  Wee Zipper shifted to the outside and raced wide approaching the home turn and on the home turn.  Faraday and Weblec Nic collided on the home turn.  George's Fever and Oakvale Magic collided on the home turn.  Wee Zipper faded in the home straight.

Wee Zipper was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hind toe fracture.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Alexgal and Never Duplicated were quick to begin.  Psychedelic Jay and Vane Power collided approaching the first turn.  Kraken Katie and Rockin' Joe collided approaching the first turn.  Rockin' Joe and Miss Gingin collided approaching the first turn.  Psychedelic Jay and Vane Power collided heavily approaching the second turn.  Miss Gingin galloped on the heels of Vane Power on the second turn.  Psychedelic Jay and Vane Power collided heavily on the second turn checking Vane Power.  Vane Power faded in the concluding stages of the event.

Vane Power was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Kayley's Comet, Bold Reflection and Winston Cruise were quick to begin.  Mister Maker and Arma Rapida were slow to begin.  Gotham Queen and Bold Reflection collided approaching the first turn.  Oakvale Warrior, Noaki Colour, Gotham Queen and Bold Reflection collided on the first turn.  Oakvale Warrior and Kayley's Comet collided on the first turn.  Gotham Queen, Bold Reflection and Mister Maker collided on the first turn checking Gotham Queen and Bold Reflection.  Arma Rapida brushed the running rail approaching the second turn.  Arma Rapida checked off Mister Maker approaching the second turn.  Arma Rapida checked off Bold Reflection on the second turn.  Mister Maker galloped on the heels of Winston Cruise on the second turn.  Bold Reflection checked off Gotham Queen on the third turn.  Mister Maker crossed to the inside in the home straight.

Ace Allen and Come On Colour were quick to begin.  Belisarius and Light The Track collided on the first turn.  Ace Allen, Come On Colour, Light The Track and Rellim Diesel collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds.  Belisarius checked off Come On Colour on the fourth turn.

Our Didda was quick to begin.  Lylah's Way, Geller Allen, Mepunga Pride and Often Imitated collided soon after the start.  Mepunga Pride checked off Dewana Dimie on the first turn.  Geller Allen galloped on the heels of Geller Allen and Often Imitated on the first turn.  Mepunga Pride and Cool Coco collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Dewana Dimie and Often Imitated collided on the third turn.

Sketchy Skinny and Blue Shadows were quick to begin.  We Love Spolly appeared to jump forward and strike the front of the lids, causing a falter and the losing of considerable ground. Surfside Squids shifted to the outside approaching the second turn and raced wide.  See Ya Mate checked off Sketchy Skinny on the third turn.  Sketchy Skinny and See Ya Mate collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.  We Love Spolly faded in the home straight.

We Love Spolly was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right sartorius muscle and right hip.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Jungle Jacqui was ineligible for this event due to incurring an injury penalty at Warragul on Thursday 9 August 2018.

A pre-race sample was taken from Rodeo.

Bowon Approach and She's Got Dash were quick to begin.  Rodeo checked off Mister Heeney soon after the start.  She's Got Dash faltered and lost ground on the first turn and faded through the remainder of the event.  Urana Vee Eight checked off Mister Heeney on the first turn checking Reality Thunder and Rodeo.  Reality Thunder and Rodeo raced wide approaching the second turn.  

She's Got Dash was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left back muscle.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
