Steward's Report
A trial of the GRV endorsed real-time tracking system was conducted throughout today's program. The racing rugs in all the odd race numbered events were fitted with a location tracking beacon as part of the trial.
Elphaba Oz was quick to begin. Molly Coaster and Crime Scene were slow to begin. Miss Zok Dee and Miss Malaysia collided several times soon after the start checking Molly Coaster. Aston Ranza checked off Elphaba Oz on the third turn. Molly Coaster and Crime Scene collided several times approaching the home turn. Mercury Rising checked off Crime Scene on the home turn colliding with Miss Malaysia; Miss Malaysia was checked as a result. Molly Coaster and Crime Scene collided on the home turn. Elphaba Oz turned its head, shifted out, visibly eased and collided with Khlo Money on the home turn Mercury Rising and Miss Malaysia collided several times in the home straight. Elphaba Oz and Khlo Money collided several times in the home straight.
Elphaba Oz was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right monkey muscle and left and right deltoid muscles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Busuttil, the trainer of the greyhound Elphaba Oz regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Elphaba Oz with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Busuttil pleaded not guilty to the charge. Elphaba Oz was found guilty and the greyhound was suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
