A trial of the GRV-endorsed real time tracking system was conducted on races 1,3,5,6,8, & 10. The racing rugs in these event were fitted with a location tracking beacon as part of the trial.

Jack Get Back, Dewana Jayden and Zipper Shoes were quick to begin.

Faraday and Molly Coaster collided approaching the first turn, checking Faraday. Jack Get Back and Zipper Shoes collided on the first turn, checking Zipper Shoes. Yelredda Saint galloped on the heels of Zipper Shoes on the second turn. Faraday and Molly Coaster collided on the second turn. Yelredda Saint and Mel Moran collided in the back straight, checking Yelredda Saint and severely checking Mel Moran. Faraday checked off Molly Coaster on the third turn. Yelredda Saint and Mel Moran collided near the winning post.

Yelredda Saint was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Mel Moran was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right sesamoid. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

Celestial Jewel and Mighty Josiah collided on the first turn checking Celestial Jewel and Plummy"s Girl. Sunny's Kayo, Mighty Josiah and Shakey Coconut collided on the second turn, checking Mighty Josiah and Let It Fly. Plummy's Girl and Celestial Jewel collided on the third turn, checking Plummy's Girl. Celestial Jewel failed to pursue the lure with due commitment on the fourth turn. Sunny's Kayo and Mighty Josiah collided on the fourth turn, checking Mighty Josiah.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Westerlo, the trainer of the greyhound Celestial Jewel regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the fourth turn.  Celestial Jewel was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left gracilis (back muscle), a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Celestial Jewel with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Westerlo pleaded guilty to the charge, Celestial Jewel was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted

Fred Dagg was vetted followed the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right elbow and humerus, a severe abrasion to the left carpal pad (stopper) and facial abrasions, and was humanely euthanased.
