The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Chochlik and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 4:54pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mrs. M. Mallia-Magri was fined the sum of $100.

Frosty Snowman, Swift Abbey and Big Dance were slow to begin. Big Dance checked off Sarah Smirnoff approaching the first turn. Frosty Snowman, Maximum Bliss and Sarah Smirnoff collided on the first turn checking Frosty Snowman and Maximum Bliss. Frosty Snowman checked off Big Dance approaching the home turn. Frosty Snowman, Maximum Bliss and Swift Abbey collided on the home turn checking Swift Abbey and Maximum Bliss. Swift Abbey and Maximum Bliss collided entering the home straight causing both greyhounds to race wide.
