Unsullied was slow to begin.  Miss Springer was very slow to begin (3L).  Dyna Nelly and Broken Rules collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Broken Rules.  Broken Rules and Miss Springer collided on the first turn, causing Broken Rules to contact the rail and lose ground.  Dyna Nelly and Unsullied collided approaching the home turn, checking Unsullied.

Broken Rules was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg monkey and left hindleg quadriceps muscle injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr James Sheahan, trainer of Little Snitzel, declared a new weight of 27.2 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Little Snitzel last raced at 26.1 kgs.

Stagger Out Fred was slow to begin.  Fernando's Flare, Little Snitzel and Cash No Bounce collided approaching the first turn, checking Cash No Bounce.  Schultz's A Rebel, Cosmic Fantasy and Fernando's Flare collided approaching the first turn, checking Cosmic Fantasy and Fernando's Flare.  Why Not Fletch and Whiz collided approaching the home turn, checking Why Not Fletch.  Cash No Bounce galloped on the heels of Whiz approaching the home turn; causing Cash No Bounce to fall and check Stagger Out Fred which clipped the heels of Why Not Fletch; causing Why Not Fletch and Fernando's Flare to fall.  Stagger Out Fred checked off Little Snitzel in the home straight.

Fernando's Flare was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg pencil/whip injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Radstock, the handler of the greyhound Broken Axle, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Broken Axle with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Radstock reserved his plea to the charge, Broken Axle was found guilty and suspended for three months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Chief Command was a late scratching at 9:32 am, due to abrasions to the right front leg (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Acting on a confirmed phone call from trainer, Mr Dale Hogan, stating that he had experienced mechanical problems, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Emerley Giggler at 4:48 pm.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms D. Vigor, the trainer of Hilary's Beers, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Hilary's Beers last raced on 4 February 2018.  Ms Vigor stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of trainer and a dew claw injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Hilary's Beers trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 27.7 kgs, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 22:62, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8.75 lengths.  Hilary's Beers was Cleared.
