Steward's Report
Mr Bruce Jacobs, trainer of Rail Remover, declared a new weight of 35.5 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Rail Remover last raced at 34.3 kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Kimura upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Kimura was slow to begin. Rail Remover and Buddie's Al collided soon after the start, checking Buddie's Al. Early Tow and Rail Remover collided on the first turn, checking Rail Remover. Kimura and Skidlisha collided approaching the home turn. Early Tow and Skidlisha collided on the home turn. Leaps And Bounds and Skidlisha collided entering the home straight. Leaps And Bounds eased in the home straight and tailed off.
Leaps And Bounds was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr Scott Melville, the trainer of the greyhound Leaps And Bounds, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Leaps And Bounds with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Melville pleaded guilty to the charge, Leaps And Bounds was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
