Smart Mary and Able were quick to begin. Emgee Sprinter, Frosty Snowman and Kissable were slow to begin.
Smart Mary and Chochlik collided soon after the start checking Chochlik. Chochlik, Frosty Snowman and Emgee Sprinter collided approaching the first turn checking Emgee Sprinter. Chochlik and Frosty Snowman collided on the first turn checking Chochlik. Able and Chase The Nugget collided on the first turn checking Chase The Nugget. Chochlik raced wide on the home turn.
