Steward's Report
Just Over and Aston Jagger were quick to begin.
Fairground was slow to begin.
Fairground, Mammoth and Oriental Tiger collided approaching the first turn checking Oriental Tiger and Long Bow. Mr. Long and Fancy Anna collided on the home turn. Mammoth raced wide on the home turn. Longbow and Fancy Anna collided several times in the home straight.
Fancy Anna was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Melville regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Mammoth. Stewards will monitor the boxing of Mammoth in future events.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Boots, the handler of the greyhound Fancy Anna regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Fancy Anna with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Boots pleaded guilty to the charge, Fancy Anna was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
