Unsound Mind was a late scratching by Order of Stewards at 11:38am. No penalty was imposed. An inquiry was opened into the circumstances of the greyhounds weight recorded last start.

Come On Eleanor, Dusty Dior and Double Birdy collided soon after the start checking Dusty Dior. Eddie and Someone Blue collided on the first turn. Come On Eleanor and Double Birdy collided on the first turn checking Come On Eleanor. Someone Blue raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

Fran Keeping was a late scratching at 11:12am  due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Titanium Bolt was slow to begin. My Ollie, Kraken Ruben and Gray Grey Goose collided soon after the start. My Ollie, Kraken Spike and Knockout Fantasy collided on the first turn. Titanium Bolt galloped on the heels of Time Saver on the first turn severely checking Titanium Bolt. Kraken Ruben, Kraken Spike and Knockout Fantasy collided on the home turn causing Kraken Ruben to fall. 

Kraken Ruben was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left triangle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Titanium Bolt was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Drought Breaker  was a late scratching at 11:24am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Short Leash was quick to begin. Our Flying Kenny, Shazza Weetbix and Aston Joyner collided soon after the start. Aston Joyner galloped on the heels of Kraken Greta on the first turn causing Kraken Greta to fall. Our Flying Kenny and Kraken Doll collided approaching the home turn checking Kraken Doll. Aston Joyner brushe the running rail appoaching the home turn.

Kraken Greta was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg spike wound, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Pieter Smoor the trainer of Short Leash regarding the greyhounds improved performance in todays event. Mr Smoor stated that he has not changed the training of the greyhound and rested the greyhound between races. Mr Smoor also stated that he was happy with the greyhounds performance and that the greyhound normally leads early on in the race. Stewards noted Mr Smoors explanation and directed a sample be taken from the greyhound Short Leash - the winner of the event.

Almapa Gallucci and Heza Real Deal were slow to begin. Almapa Gallucci and She's An Earn collided on the first turn. Noble Weetbix, Schusta, Kid Ringo and Cash Or Card collided on the first turn. I'm Orion and Heza Real Deal collided on the first turn checking I'm Orion. Kid Ringo and Heza Real Deal collided apporaching the home turn. Almapa Gallucci, She's An Earn and Heza Real Deal collided on the first turn checking She's An Earn and Heza Real Deal. Kid Ringo and Almapa Gallucci collided entering the home straight. Manila Kampyon and Aston Milla were quick to begin. Cosmic Act was slow out. Cosmic Act, Hector Cabang and Manila Kampyon collided approaching the first turn checking Cosmic Act. Aston Milla, Speedy Spyro, Party Mix and Manila Kampyon collided on the first turn checking Manila Kampyon severely checking Speedy Spyro and Tiggerlong Zorro. Cosmic Act, Party Mix and Manila Kampyon collided on the home turn severely checking Cosmic Act and Manila Kampyon. Cosmic Act and Manila Kampyon collided entering the home straight severely checking Cosmic Act. Cosmic Act raced wide in the home straight. 

Cosmic Act was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right elbow, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

This meeting was deemed Hot Weather Affected. Prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was 32.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.6 degrees.

Dybala and Argyle Franklin collided soon after the start checking Argyle Franklin. Dybala, I'm Tripping Don, Disgruntled and Sandave Rayne collided entering the back straight checking Dybala and I'm Tipping Don severely checking Disgruntled which fell as a result. Still Single and Rocket Strike collided on the second turn checking Still Single. Sandave Rayne raced wide in the home turn and in the home straight. Dybala raced wide in the home straight.

Disgruntled was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Following the event, Stewards held an inquiry into the conduct of trainers Mr Ben Divirgilio and Mr Shane Drummond during and after the race. Stewards took evidence from several participants, Stewards and club staff. 

Stewards charged Mr Ben Divirgilio pursuant to GAR 86 (q) in which he engaged in conduct which was deterimental to the interest, image and promotion of greyhound racing. Mr Divirgilio pleaded not guilty, he was found guilty and fined the sum of $250.

Come On Charlize, Peter Yap, Extra Gear, Militant Mack and Ice Cold Yug collided on the first turn checking Militant Mack and Ice Cold Yug. Come On Charlize and Peter Yap collided on the first turn checking Peter Yap and Ice Cool Kaedyn. Peter Yap and Ice Cool Kaedyn collided on the home turn checking Ice Cold Yug. Peter Yap and Ice Cool Kaedyn collided in the home straight.

Our Flying Laura, Royal Solo, It's A Bull and Aston Frankel collided in the back straight checking Our Flying Laura and Royal Solo. It's A Bull and Royal Solo collided on the home turn checking Royal Solo.

Due to opperational manners, this race was 1.3 minutes late. Zipping Poppy and Aston Aniston were slow to begin. Tuesday's Grace and Stars And Lights collided soon after the start. Kiwi Collision, Stars And Lights and Tuesday's Grace collided approaching the first turn checking Tuesday's Grace and Zipping Poppy. Stars And Lights and Kiwi Collision collided approaching the home turn. Tuesday's Grace and Kiwi Collision collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Ear We Come and Sweet Potato were quick to begin. Vitaliser was slow to begin. Sweet Potato, Atlantic Jewel and My Logan Leigh collided on the first turn checking all 3 greyhounds.

This race was delayed 1.48 minutes due to a Tokyo thoroughbred race. Iona Misty was quick to begin. Aqualite and Iona Misty collided on the first turn checking Aqualite, Forgotten Girl and Trouble Brewing. Liscoyle Lass and Eadie Gee collided on the first turn checking Eadie Gee. Forgotten Girl and Trouble Brewing collided on the home turn and in the home straight. A sample was taken from Lilywhites - the winner of the event.

Just Banji was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey and right deltoid muscles, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
