Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Shooters Ali.
Tarquin Bob, Modern Jagger and Shooters Ali were slow to begin. Shooters Ali clipped the heels of Scooby Scooby Do soon after the start. Dream Gem and Owlette collided approaching the first turn. Modern Jagger checked off Owlette approaching the first turn. Shooters Ali, Modern Jagger and Scooby Scooby Do collided approaching the home turn. Shooters Ali and Scooby Scooby Do raced wide in the home straight. Dream Gem eased approaching the winning post.
Dream Gem was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 10, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms L Russell, the handler of the greyhound Dream Gem, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Dream Gem with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Dream Gem was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
