The start of this event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to a delay in the kennelling area.
A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Olivia.
Go Zippy Go was quick to begin. Aston Olivia was slow to begin. Midnight Memphis and Weeona Bonnie collided soon after the start checking Weeona Bonnie. Midnight Memphis was checked off Woodleigh Sal approaching the first turn. Weeona Bonnie was checked off Aston Halle on the first turn checking Comets Gold. Comets Gold galloped on Weeona Bonnie approaching the home turn causing Comets Gold to fall checking Midnight Memphis. Go Zippy Go and Magic Trap collided on the home turn.
Comets Gold was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left foreleg and bruising to the lumber muscle region, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
