The start of this event was delayed by approximately 4.5 minutes due a sprinkler malfunction resulting in the track needing to be re-matted.
Kuzma stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin. What Feeling was very slow to begin - 3 lengths.
Braemar Sassy, Once A King and Queen Lita collided soon after the start. Once A King and Queen Lita collided at the 250m mark. Sam I'm Mikado galloped on Kuzma at the 200m mark checking Kuzma. Kuzma and Sam I'm Mikado collided approaching the 50m mark. Kuzma, Braemar Sassy and Sam I'm Mikado collided at the 50m mark checking Sam I'm Mikado. Kip Your Star, Braemar Sassy and Kuzma collided approaching the winning post.
Kip Your Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left carpal sprain and a right deltiod injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Kipirtidis, the trainer of Kip Your Star regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Kip Your Star was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Kipirtidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Kip Your Star is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
