Smooth Roster was very slow to begin - 4 lengths.
Sprite Halo and Got Some Zip collided approaching the 200m mark. Montey Jack marred Hard Break at the 200m mark. Hard Break eased approaching the winning post.
Montey Jack underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr G. Johnson, the trainer of Montey Jack regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 200m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Montey Jack was charged with marring. Mr Johnson pleaded guilty to the charge, Montey Jack is suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Hard Break underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Mr Smith declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Smith, the trainer of Hard Break regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Hard Break was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Hard Break is suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
