Steward's Report
Bayonet – New declared weight of 31.3 kgs, last raced at 32.6 kgs.
Pyrenees Steele was very slow to begin (4L). Mortadella and Oriental Tiger collided soon after the start. Tomassi and Spyglass collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking Oriental Tiger. Pyrenees Steele and Oriental Tiger collided approaching the home turn. Mortadella raced wide in the home straight. Lucina Motief which trailed the field, was vetted following the event.
Lucina Motief underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right hindleg hock and stile soreness. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms Jeanette Spruyt regarding the performance of Lucina Motief in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Lucina Motief must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
