Steward's Report
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute due to race 8 at Funabashi running behind schedule.
Fearless was quick to begin. Titanium Springs and He's Alexis were slow to begin.
Big Little Sis checked off Mysterious Mara soon after the start. Mysterious Mara checked off Bets And Beers approaching the first turn. Fearless and Inter Mimi raced tight from approaching the first turn to the home turn and collided as a result. Big Little Sis checked off Mysterious Mara approaching the first turn checking Big Little Sis and He's Alexia. Bets And Beers visibly eased approaching the home turn. Big Little Sis and Mysterious Mara collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
Bets And Beers underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.
A post-race sample was taken from Fearless - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Graham, the trainer of Bets And Beers regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Bets And Beers was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr D. Graham pleaded guilty to the charge, Bets And Beers is suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
