Whipper's Chance was slow to begin.
Double Cross and Mitta Mitta collided soon after the start. Jed Bale and Mitta Mitta collided approaching the first turn. Black Sombrero and Double Cross collided approaching the first turn. Jed Bale checked off Double Cross approaching the home turn. Whipper's Chance and Double Cross collided on the home turn. Jed Bale raced wide in the home straight.
