Thomeli Gal was quick to begin.
Star Cluster checked off Xala Bale soon after the start. Had To Listen and Lektra Swank collided soon after the start. Had To Listen and Cairnlea Abby collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Star Cluster and Xala Bale collided approaching the home turn. Star Cluster and Cairnlea Abby collided approaching the winning post. Xala Bale eased approaching the winning post.
Xala Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle and the left triangle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. S Collyer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners the approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Xala Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Collyer pleaded guilty to the charge, Xala Bale must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
