Felicia Bale checked off Let's Roll soon after the start and collided with Yanira Bale. Felicia Bale and Yanira Bale collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking Felicia Bale and causing Super Free to race wide and lose ground. Felicia Bale raced wide from approaching the home turn to the home turn.  Yanira Bale and Brandy Mandy contacted the running rail on the home turn.

Piparae crossed to the outside approaching the first turn, checking Parumba Ned and Shrek's Typhoon. Shotgun Shiloh, Gray Grey Goose and Piparae collided on the home turn.

This race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to a flock of birds being in close proximity to the track.

Blackpool Remi was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Dyna Winter was quick to begin. 

Alonso Power galloped on Indira's Girl soon after the start. Indira's Girl and Buckle Up Spud collided approaching the first turn. Buckle Up Spud checked off Lost Blue entering the home straight.

Leopardstown was slow to begin.

Breakout and Head Loch collided on the first turn, checking Breakout and Percy's Empire. Breakout checked off Light The Track entering the back straight. Main One checked off Percy's Empire approaching the home turn. 

Dewana Help Me was slow to begin. 

Extreme Justice checked off Disco Hips on the first turn causing Black Beauty to gallop on Extreme Justice, checking Extreme Justice, Black Beauty and Dewana Help Me. Extreme Justice, Black Beauty and Dewana Help Me collided on the second turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr Terry Burns, the trainer of Buckle Up York regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Buckle Up York last raced on 5 December, 2018 and is returning to racing following a spell.

Stewards spoke to Mr Alfred Spiteri, the trainer of Blue Afro regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Blue Afro last raced 28 October, 2018 and is returning to racing following a right back muscle injury. 

A pre- race sample was taken from Chrissy Pee. 

Poison Pen crossed to the rails approaching the first turn, checking Mini Dozer, Blue Afro and Chrissy Pee. Blue Afro checked off Poison Pen on the first turn. Mini Dozer checked off Poison Pen approaching the home turn. Chrissy Pee raced wide on the home turn.

Dewana Sprite, Merc and Secret Business collided approaching the first turn, checking Merc and Galloping Leo. Fast Trapper, Tooka Half and Merc collided on the first turn, checking Fast Trapper and Galloping Leo and severely checking Merc. Dewana Sprite and Secret Business collided on the first turn. 

Merc was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury and spike wounds to the right foot and right calf. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
