Curnow Keats and Up And About collided soon after the start.  Lightning Blast, Angry Trip and Zipping Benny collided on the first turn.  Leon Bale, Curnow Keats and Up And About collided on the first turn and again on the second turn checking Up And About.  Angry Trip and Zipping Benny collided on the second turn. 

May Haze was quick to begin.  Kingsbrae Cheeko, Dex's Affair and Flying Smart were slow to begin.

Blocker Tifia, Zambora Andy and Give Away King collided soon after the start.  May Haze and Monster Machine collided approaching the first turn.  Monster Machine, Blocker Tifia, Zambora Andy and Give Away King collided approaching the first turn.  Blocker Tifia and Zambora Andy collided on the first turn checking Zambora Andy, Kingsbrae Cheeko and Give Away King.  Flying Smart faltered approaching the second turn and pulled up.  Kingsbrae Cheeko and Give Away King collided approaching the second turn. 

Flying Smart underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 stand down period was imposed. Based on the OTVs recommendation, GRV Stewards require a Follow-Up Vet Consultation Next Day.

Feikuai Donna crossed in soon after the start checking Okay Kirsty, Saetta and Militant Spirit.  Extreme Summer crossed in approaching the first turn and collided with Feikuai Donna and Militant Spirit.  Crimson Vixen and Militant Spirit collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Militant Spirit, Saetta and Feikuai Donna collided several times from approaching the first turn to the second turn checking all three greyhounds.  Miss Innings and Shanlyn Georgie collided entering the home straight.  Okay Kirsty checked off Shanlyn Georgie entering the home straight.  Saetta and Feikuai Donna collided approaching the winning post.

Following the running of Race 3, Stewards inspected part of the track, namely approaching the second turn, and on the second turn. After conducting a thorough inspection, and conferring with the Track Manager, Stewards deemed the track safe for racing.

Never Duplicated was quick begin.  Boom Down was slow to begin.

Zipping Galon and Dyna Chancer collided approaching the first turn checking Zipping Galon.  Zipping Galon and Ebby Ripper collided on the second turn and again several times from approaching the fifth turn to the home turn.  Boom Down checked off Never Duplicated entering the home straight.

Dyna Harpa was quick to begin.  Aston Vanquish was slow to begin.  

Reiko Ablett and Penta Allen collided approaching the first turn.  Dyna Harpa, Dyna Forrest and Vital Force collided on the first turn.  Aston Utah, Dyna Forrest, Aston Vanquish and Reiko Ablett collided on the first turn checking Aston Vanquish, Reiko Ablett severely checking Aston Utah, Dyna Forrest tailed off as a result.  Vital Force and Penta Allen collided approaching the third turn.

Aston Utah underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.

Saint West and Sky Wesley collided soon after the start.  Full Tilt crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Winsome Express, He Shall Johnny and Come On Charlize.  Saint West checked off Sky Wesley on the first turn.  He Shall Johnny and Winsome Express collided approaching the second turn.  He Shall Johnny checked off Winsome Express on the second turn checking Come On Charlize and Sky Wesley.  Sky Wesley and Come On Charlize collided approaching the home turn.  Royal Solo checked off Full Tilt in the home straight.

Sky Wesley underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right deltoid injuries. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Meeting Comments:

Stewards recommenced an inquiry into the scratching of "Raine Allen" from the Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club meeting on 13/03/2019. Mr Grenfell was directed via phone to present the greyhound to the Sandown Greyhound Racing Club meeting tonight (14/03/219) to confirm the details of the injury which was given to stewards via phone at Ballarat. On Track Veterinarian Dr. N Nagaich confirmed the details of the injury given to stewards on 13/03/2019. Mr Grenfell submitted that he was of the opinion he scratched "Raine Allen" due to injury well before scratching time Ballarat, however he did not confirm the greyhound had been taken out of the field.

Mr Grenfell pleaded guilty to a charge under 86(o) in that he negligently failed to scratch the greyhound "Raine Allen" from its engagement at Ballarat on 13/03/2019 and was fined $100. Stewards took into account that Mr Grenfell presented the greyhound at the track the following day, where the injury which was originally stated, was confirmed.
