Steward's Report
Gypsy Kiowa was slow to begin.
Raven Rich and Gin Lee's Joe collided soon after the start checking Raven Rich. Lost Horizon and Bruree Boy collided soon after the start checking Raven Rich and Gin Lee's Joe. Gotta Jump Start, Cawbourne Mav and Lost Horizon collided at the 150m mark checking Cawbourne Mav and Lost Horizon. Raven Rich checked off Gypsy Kiowa at the 100m mark. Gin Lee's Joe and Cawbourne Mav collided at the 100m mark. Gypsy Kiowa faltered approaching the winning post.
Gypsy Kiowa was vetted and after being re-vetted following Race 7, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right quadricep and right monkey muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards questioned Mr R Gladman (representing Trainer - Ms L Farquhar) and also Ms Lisa Farquhar via telephone link-up regarding the circumstances leading to the withdrawal of Ebby’s Plan in this event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 23(3), Stewards have directed Ms Farquhar present Ebby’s Plan for a veterinary examination following kennelling at the Ballarat meeting on Monday, 4 March, 2019.
