Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Brian Smith, the trainer of Black Maserati regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Black Maserati last raced on 12 September, 2018 and is returning to racing following a spell. Mr Smith also declared a new weight of 31.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Black Maserati last raced at 30.7kgs.
Rotarua, Roulette Blues and Black Maserati were slow to begin.
Roulette Blues crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Renshaw Avenue. Abstract Miss, Black Maserati and Tee Tee collided approaching the 300m mark. Black Maserati and Tee Tee collided at the 300m mark, checking both greyhounds. Rotarua and Abstract Miss collided at the 250m mark. Renshaw Avenue checked off Black Maserati at the 200m mark. Rotarua and Abstract Miss collided several times at the 150m mark. Black Maserati faltered approaching the winning post.
Black Maserati was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
