Hopeful and Testa Girl collided approaching the 250m mark. Hopeful, Testa Girl and Dan's Hopeful collided at the 250m mark, checking Hopeful and Testa Girl. Blonde Bella and Tex Burger collided approaching the 150m mark, checking Hopeful, Testa Girl, Blonde Bella and Tex Burger. Hopeful, Testa Girl and Blonde Bella collided approaching the 100m mark, checking Testa Girl and Blonde Bella. Testa Girl and Blonde Bella collided at the 50m mark, checking Blonde Bella. 

Superior Hunter and Psycho Millie were slow to begin. 

Psyco Millie galloped on Eye Dunno approaching the 150m mark, causing Eye Dunno to lose ground. 

Eye Dunno was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Brian Smith, the trainer of Black Maserati regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Black Maserati last raced on 12 September, 2018 and is returning to racing following a spell. Mr Smith also declared a new weight of 31.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Black Maserati last raced at 30.7kgs.

Rotarua, Roulette Blues and Black Maserati were slow to begin. 

Roulette Blues crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Renshaw Avenue. Abstract Miss, Black Maserati and Tee Tee collided approaching the 300m mark. Black Maserati and Tee Tee collided at the 300m mark, checking both greyhounds. Rotarua and Abstract Miss collided at the 250m mark. Renshaw Avenue checked off Black Maserati at the 200m mark. Rotarua and Abstract Miss collided several times at the 150m mark. Black Maserati faltered approaching the winning post. 

Black Maserati was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

A sample was taken from Tanjil Ace - the winner of the event.. 

Rhomboid was slow to begin. 

Rhomboid crossed to the outside at the 250m mark. 

A sample was taken from Opal Heist - the winner of the event. 

Dorothy Dawn was quick to begin.

Hot Cruiser, Bluehawk Robert and Dorothy Dawn collided at the 250m mark. Bluehawk Robert and Dorothy Dawn collided at the 100m mark.

Time To Talk and Sweet Spud were slow to begin.

Avatar Minty, Tammin and Time To Talk collided soon after the start. Tammin and Time To Talk collided at the 300m mark. Zipping Amber crossed to the rails at the 250m mark. Avatar Minty and Tammin collided at the 250m mark. Sweet Spud and Vitaliser collided several times from the 150m mark to the 100m mark. Time To Talk and Vitaliser collided 100m mark. 

A sample was taken from My American Girl - the winner of the event. 

Adala Prince was a late scratching at 10:31am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right pencil muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Bugs Boloney and Bourbon And Kahn collided soon after the start, checking Bugs Boloney. Bugs Boloney crossed to the outside approaching the 300m mark. Superior Scotch and Runnin' Rampage collided at the 300m mark. Bourbon An Kahn and Girt By Sea collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Bourbon An Kahn. 

19 January,  2019.  

Stewards today spoke to the trainer of Leica Cali King, Mr A Paraskevas regarding the scratching of the greyhound from this event. Mr Paraskevas reported that the greyhound was suffering from a stopper bone injury. Mr Paraskevas agreed to a request by Stewards acting under GAR 23(3), to present the greyhound at the Sandown GRC meeting on 20/1/2019 to be examined by GRV Chief Veterinarian Dr S Karamatic.

Supplementary Report t Monday 20/1/2018.

Mr A Paraskevas presented the greyhound Leica Cali King at The Sandown GRC for examination as requested GAR 23(3). As a result of the examination,  Stewards have requested Mr Paraskevas to provide further information regarding the greyhounds recent veterinary treatment for  the Stopper Bone injury.

Jet Blaster was slow to begin. 

Down Mexico Way and Hooked On You collided soon after the start.  Down Mexico Way and Startron collided approaching the 300m mark. Jet Blaster crossed to the outside at the 300m mark, checking Ryben Jack. Jet Blaster, Ryben Jack and Down Mexico Way collided at the 250m mark. Down Mexico Way checked off Jet Blaster approaching the 200m mark and again at the 50m mark. 

A sample was taken from Eye Got It - the winner of the event. 

Tayla's Banjo was a late scratching at 10:23am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Jay Robinson was fined the sum of $100.

Two Seasons and Sideshow Marjen collided soon after the start, checking Two Seasons. Two Sesaons checked off Sideshow Marjen approaching the 200m mark. Bring The Spring checked off Two Seasons approaching the 200m mark. 

Miss Legality, More Donuts and Mepunga Giant were slow to begin.

Miss Luna Girl crossed in soon after the start, checking Mepunga Giant and Twenty Tamar. Miss Legality checked off Miss Luna Girl approaching the 200m mark. 

Parish Power and Crime Minister collided soon after the start and again at the 250m mark, checking Crime Minister.

She's Wicked was a late scratching at 10:48am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right monkey muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Major Gas was slow to begin.

Major Gas and Boopa Doop Girl collided at the 250m mark. Tuscan Dream checked off Starface at the 200m mark.

Satisfactory Trial Results -

Lost Horizon trialled over the 300m from box 1, weight 28.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 17.22, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4L. Lost Horizon was cleared. 

Xena Hyena trialled over the 300m from box 6, weight 23.7kgs, the greyhound was placed 4 in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 17.22, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12.25L. Xena Hyena was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers) -

Maggie Mikado trialled over the 300m from box 8, weight 27.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 17.22, the greyhound won by a margin of 4L. Maggie Mikado was cleared to race without blinkers.
