Steward's Report
Militant Spirit was quick to begin. El Grand Knocka, Hayley's Style and Con Rod collided approaching the first turn. Little Black Joe and Hayley's Style collided on the first turn, checking Hayley's Style and Double Tax. Little Black Joe checked off Con Rod approaching the home turn. Con Rod checked off El Grand Knocka approaching the home turn. Double Tax failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight and collided with Con Rod.
Stewards spoke to Mr Neil Jones, the representative of the greyhound Double Tax regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Double Tax was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg shoulder joint injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Double Tax with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Double Tax was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
