Mexican Ned  was a late scratching at 4:46 pm, due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr Gregory Couldridge was fined the sum of $100.

Dee Nine was quick to begin.  Cleary Allen was slow to begin.  Cool Rage checked off Dee Nine soon after the start.  Aston Lily, Cool Rage, Broken Pieces and Miss Oreo Mac collided approaching the first turn, checking Broken Pieces and Miss Oreo Mac.  Aston Lily checked off Cool Rage on the first turn.  Aston Lily and Miss Oreo Mac raced wide on the home turn.

Militant Spirit was quick to begin.  El Grand Knocka, Hayley's Style and Con Rod collided approaching the first turn.  Little Black Joe and Hayley's Style collided on the first turn, checking Hayley's Style and Double Tax.  Little Black Joe checked off Con Rod approaching the home turn.  Con Rod checked off El Grand Knocka approaching the home turn.  Double Tax failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight and collided with Con Rod.

Stewards spoke to Mr Neil Jones, the representative of the greyhound Double Tax regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Double Tax was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg shoulder joint injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Double Tax with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Double Tax was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cool Number was a late scratching at 5:05 pm  on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a toe injury on the left foreleg.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Tashendo, which tailed off, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg monkey muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Scott Pizzazz was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg toe fracture, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Kraken Jonny trialled over the 410m from box three, weight 28.8 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 23:72, the greyhound won by a margin of 6.5 lengths.  Kraken Jonny was Cleared.
