Steward's Report

A pre race sample was taken from Midnight Marzy.

You Ripppa Rippa and Cinnamon Rose collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Wild Hunny and Cruisy's Lil collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds causing Wild Hunny and Midnight Marzy to collide. Wild Hunny checked off Cruisy's Lil approaching the second turn causing Wild Hunny and Dyna Marge to collide. Midnighyt Marzy checked off Cruisy's Lil approaching the second turn. Dyna Marge and Wild Hunny collided on the second turn checking Wild Hunny which lost ground as a result. You Rippa Pippa and Cinnamon Rose collided on the second turn.

Wild Hunny was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the monkey and chest muscles. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Clint Leviston regarding the greyhounds performance who started as the favourite in the event. Mr Leviston stated that the greyhound performs best when able to lead and after suffering interference on the first turn was placed further back in the field. Mr Leviston added that it was the greyhound's first start at the track.
