Detroit Wally was quick to begin. Romanova was slow to begin.
Rockin' Joe checked off Midnight Mystery soon after the start. Midnight Mystery, Living Daylights and Kinmoss Brave collided on the first turn, checking Living Daylights. Detroit Wally and Chill Out Chris collided on the home turn. Rockin' Joe and Midnight Mystery raced wide in the home straight. Kinmoss Brave marred Chill Out Chris in the home straight, checking Detroit Wally and Living Daylights.

Kinmoss Brave was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain to right foreleg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Gore, the trainer of the greyhound Kinmoss Brave, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Kinmoss Brave with marring. Mr.R.Gore, pleaded guilty to the charge, Kinmoss Brave was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
