Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Westerlo the representative of Ebony Gem regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ebony Gem last raced on 10 June 2018 and the greyhound is resuming racing following a seasonal condition.
This event was delayed by approximately 1.40 mins due to Sky commitments with New Zealand Motukarara Harness.
Renshaw Avenue and Out Break were quick to begin. Martini Lady was slow to begin.
Renshaw Avenue checked off Grace Intention on the first turn, Renshaw Avenue raced wide as a result. Martini Lady faltered in the back straight and subsequently pulled up. Renshaw Avenue raced wide in the back straight. Rapanui Surprise and Weblec Mack collided entering the home straight.
Martini Lady was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion over the right hock and a right sesamoid, deltoid, back muscle and triangle injuries, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
