Stewards spoke to Mr J. Westerlo the representative of Ebony Gem regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ebony Gem last raced on 10 June 2018 and the greyhound is resuming racing following a seasonal condition.

This event was delayed by approximately 1.40 mins due to Sky commitments with New Zealand Motukarara Harness.

Renshaw Avenue and Out Break were quick to begin.  Martini Lady was slow to begin.

Renshaw Avenue checked off Grace Intention on the first turn, Renshaw Avenue raced wide as a result.  Martini Lady faltered in the back straight and subsequently pulled up.  Renshaw Avenue raced wide in the back straight.  Rapanui Surprise and Weblec Mack collided entering the home straight. 

Martini Lady was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion over the right hock and a right sesamoid, deltoid, back muscle and triangle injuries, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Federal Elle and Black Beauty were quick to begin.  Zipping Keely was slow to begin.

Federal Elle, Track Of Time and Double Bolt collided soon after the start checking Track Of Time and Double Bolt.  Peppertide and Black Beauty collided on the first turn checking Black Beauty and Fernando Rocks.  Track Of Time and Double Bolt collided on the first turn checking Double Bolt.  Double Bolt and Black Beauty collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Track Of Time and Fernando Rocks collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds and causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Track Of Time and Fernando Rocks collided entering the back straight checking Track Of Time.  Track Of Time checked off Fernando Rocks approaching the fourth turn checking Zipping Keely.  Black Beauty checked off Zipping Keely on the fourth turn.  Invictus Nina and Federal Elle collided entering the home straight. 

Track Of Time was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind foot, no stand down period was imposed.

Double Bolt which tailed off was vetted and re-vetted following event 5 .  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right toe injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Lobster Hill was quick to begin.  Sunny's Kayo was slow to begin.

Sunny's Kayo checked off Fairy Vixen on the second turn.  Cosmic Collinda checked off South Serpent entering the back straight.  Cosmic Collinda and Sunny's Kayo collided approaching the third turn checking Cosmic Collinda.  South Serpent checked off Benny's Entity approaching the home turn. 

Sustain The Rage was a late scratching at 4.50PM on 8 December 2018 due to a right fibia injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Cee Me Shine and Loranza were slow to begin.

Flossing and Shoot To Miss collided on the first turn checking Shoot To Miss causing Ash Star to gallop on Shoot To Miss checking Lorenza.  Cee Me Shine checked off Shoot To Miss in the back straight.  Cee Me Shine and Ash Star collided approaching the third turn checking both greyhounds.  Cee Me Shine eased in the home straight and tailed off.

Stewards spoke to Mr P. Borradale, the trainer of the greyhound Cee Me Shine regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Cee Me Shine was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right deltoid and left back muscle injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cee Me Shine with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Borradale pleaded not guilty to the charge, Cee Me Shine was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Quest For Glory, Kraken Bam Bam and She's For Us were slow to begin.

Kraken Bam Bam and She's For Us collided soon after the start.  Priority Pass, Kraken Bam Bam and She's For Us collided on the first turn checking Priority Pass, She's For Us and severely checking Kraken Bam Bam.  Circle Of Dreams and Federal Lilly collided on the second turn.  Priority Pass and She's For Us collided on the second turn checking She's For Us.  Federal Lilly checked off Circle Of Dreams entering the back straight.  Federal Lilly checked off Marcus Joy in the back straight.  Quest For Glory and Marcus Joy collided approaching the home turn checking Quest For Glory.  Priority Pass and She's For Us collided approaching the home turn and again in the home straight.

Royal Solo, Jessie's Star and Destini Ferrari were slow to begin.

Royal Solo, Another Bling, South Of Eden, Revved Up Dee, Jessie's Star and Fast Izzi collided on the first turn checking Revved Up Dee and Jessie's Star.  Fast Izzi and Destini Ferrari collided entering the front straight checking Fast Izzi.  Royal Solo checked off Another Bling on the second turn checking Royal Solo, South Of Eden and Destini Ferrari.  Destini Ferrari and Revved Up Dee collided on the on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Mr D. Faulknall the trainer of Royal Solo requested the greyhound be vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left deltoid injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Black Opium, Hot Finish and My Victoria were slow to begin.

Black Opium crossed in on the first turn checking Maximum Kobi and By Your Side, causing My Victoria to race wide.  Reiko Rocketta and Flowing collided entering the back straight checking Flowing.

Wise Piquet and Main One were slow to begin.

Form A Circle and Fab Reiko collided on the first turn.  Form A Circle and Wise Piquet collided approaching the second turn checking Form A Circle, Wise Piquet and Vens Revenge.  Form A Circle and Vens Revenge collided on the second turn, in the back straight and approaching the home turn checking Form A Circle.  

Red Hot Chevy, Zipping Dharma, Star Reiko and Never Duplicated collided soon after the start checking Star Reiko.  Grace Ali and Red Hot Chevy collided approaching the first turn.  Never Duplicated crossed in on the second turn and checked off Grace Ali checking Star Reiko which contacted the running rail.  Grace Ali checked off Red Hot Chevy approaching the home turn.  Grace Ali and Star Reiko collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Red Hot Chevy and Never Duplicated collided in the home straight checking Red Hot Chevy.  

Star Reiko was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left back leg, no stand down period was imposed.

Sweet As Emm, Keeping Busy and Time To Talk collided approaching the first turn checking Sweet As Emm and Keeping Busy.  Oakvale Magic crossed in on the first turn checking Keeping Busy.  Lucille Dior checked off Oakvale Magic in the back straight.  Mimstar and Lucille Dior collided on the home turn.

Tammin and Often Imitated collided approaching the first and again on the first turn checking Tammin on both occasions.  Appointed and Die Laughing collided approaching the second turn checking Appointed.  Boquilla and Often Imitated collided in the back straight checking Boquilla.  Saint West and Appointed raced wide in the back straight.  Die Laughing checked off Flying Apollo approaching the third turn.  Boquilla and Flying Apollo collided on the third turn checking Flying Apollo.  Flying Apollo checked off Boquilla approaching the home turn checking Die Laughing and Saint West.  Tammin and Appointed collided on the home turn.
