Crackerjack Nev was slow to begin. Zipping Jerry checked off Princess Pulse on the first turn and lost ground, causing both greyhounds to race wide.

Nellie Shan was a late scratching at 9:18am due to non arrival (GAR 31). Due to the scratchings closing at 8:30am as a result of the Christmas Day holiday, no penalties were applied.

Hot Spuds was slow to begin. Titanium Bolt checked off Rampant Doc soon after the start. Hot Spuds, New Sense and Titanium Bolt collided on the first turn checking Titanium Bolt which raced wide as a result. Dyna Nelly, Hot Spuds and Titanium Bolt raced wide on the home turn.

Striking Gold checked off Silver Cupcake approaching the first turn. Silver Cupcake checked off Maximum Tiff on the first turn, causing Silver Cupcake to race wide. Pyrenees Classic checked off Silver Cupcake entering the home straight and raced wide as a result.

A pre-race sample was taken from Swift Ruby.

Pyrenees Petraca, Swift Ruby and Anne's Nitro collided on the first turn checking Swift Ruby which subsequently collided with Saint Ray. Pyrenees Petraca, Anne's Nitro and Ominous Warning collided approaching the home turn causing Ominous Warning to race wide. Ominous Warning and Anne's Nitro collided in the home straight.

At the start of this event the outside temperature was 27.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.3 degrees.

This event was delayed approximately 1.5 minutes due to the lure being positioned in the incorrect starting position prior to the running of this event.

Selfless checked off Rocket Strike on the first turn and collided heavily with Pietra Allen, causing Selfless to race wide. Hotspur Joey and Star Project collided entering the home straight checking Rocket Strike. Star Project marred Hotspur Joey several times in the home staight.

Star Project was vetted following the event. it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left back muscle and left groin. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr R. Taylor, the trainer of the greyhound Star Project regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Star Project with marring. Mr Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge, Star Project was found guilty and suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Tye Me Chopper was slow to begin. Extreme Justice checked off Tye Me Chopper on the first turn causing Extreme Justice to race wide. Tye Me Chopper raced wide on the home turn.

Aston Frankel was slow to begin. Militant Spirit and Big Flash Marjen raced wide approaching the home turn. Big Flash Marjen checked off Militant Spirit entering the home straight.

Mepunga Pride and Mr. Uggboot collided soon after the start. Go Gettem Bingo and Mr. Uggboot collided on the first turn checking Mepunga Pride which raced wide as a result and continued to race wide on the home turn. Go Gettem Bingo tightened approaching the winning post.

Chatty Garry was slow to begin. Chatty Garry and Destini Cheetah collided soon after the start. Destini Cheetah checked off Clavash approaching the first turn. Chatty Garry checked off Clavash on the first turn.

Deano's Mojo was slow to begin. Fernando's Flare, Gojek and Hillbilly Boy collided approaching the first turn checking Hillbilly Boy. Militant Mack and Charlie Rocket collided on the first turn. Charlie Rocket faltered on the first turn and raced wide. Charlie Rocket and Fernando's Flare collided approaching the home turn. Militant Mack, Hillbilly Boy and Charlie Rocket collided on the home turn.

Charlie Rocket was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left triangle muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Faster Bolt.

This event was delayed by approximately 4 minutes due to a malfunction with the lure during the stir-up.

Faster Bolt went up with the lids at box rise. Chile Allen, Solar Mocha and Pyreness Inferno collided approaching the first turn. Solar Mocha checked off Chile Allen on the first turn.
