Kennels closed approximately 11 minutes late, due to the late arrival on course of Trainer, Mr Bruce Wellington.

Dyna Quota was quick to begin.  Dyna Reaver was slow to begin.  Little Tonka, Kip Moss and Super Spolly collided soon after the start.  Super Spolly and It's Fresh collided approaching the first turn.  Little Tonk and Dyna Quota collided on the first turn.

Magic Flora, Dewana Help Me and Omen Allen were slow to begin.  Omen Allen clipped the heels of Not Practical approaching the first turn.  Dewana Help Me and Dyna Eren collided on the first turn.  Titch's Treasure faltered on the first turn and subsequently tailed off.  Not Practical marred the running of Titch's Treasure approaching the home turn.

Titch's Treasure was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg hock injury, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Not Practical was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg wrist injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Trevor Whitford, the trainer of the greyhound Not Practical, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Not Practical with marring. Mr Whitford pleaded guilty to the charge, Not Practical was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Goold, the trainer of Newfire Chelle, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Newfire Chelle last raced on 18 April 2018 and is returning after a spell.

Hypo Chared was quick to begin.  No Sugar, Newfire Chelle and Ultimate Amadeus collided soon after the start.  No Sugar and Ultimate Amadeus collided approaching the first turn.  Spector Icon checked off Extra Kisses approaching the first turn.  Newfire Chelle and Ultimate Amadeus collided on the first turn, checking Extra Kisses and Ultimate Amadeus.  Shanlyn Bubbles and Hypo Chared collided entering the home straight, checking Hypo Chared.

A pre-race sample was taken from Really Magic upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Terri-Maree Morris, the trainer of Jesaulenko, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Jesaulenko last raced on 13 May 2018 and is returning after a spell.

Need A Zac was a late scratching at 6:28 pm, due to non arrival (GAR 31).  Trainer, Mr Owen Fraser was fined the sum of $100. After discussions with Mr. Fraser, no stand down penalty was applied to Need A Zac.

Roland View was slow to begin.  Galester Hook and Really Magic collided on the first turn, checking Really Magic; causing Really Magic to check off Jesaulenko.

A pre-race sample was taken from Romany Girl.

Canterbury and Psychedelic Jay were slow to begin.  Romany Girl and Always Alone collided approaching the first turn.  Run The Route and Canterbury collided approaching the first turn.  Dyna Alice, Romany Girl and Always Alone collided on the first turn, checking Dyna Alice, Romany Girl, Canterbury, Run The Route and Psychedelic Jay; severely checking Always One.  Dyna Alice and Canterbury collided approaching the second turn.

Stewards issued a warning to trainer, Mr Travis Howell regarding his failure to engage a catcher for Dyna Alice in this event, pursuant to GAR 48.

Always Alone was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg triangle injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Our Gal Livy was quick to begin.  Hannah Bear crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Whiney Whine, Johnny Black and Sergei.  Johnny Black, Sazoo Icon and Sergei collided approaching the first turn.  Our Gal Livy and Trey Smidge collided approaching the second turn.  Blusain Bolt and Hannah Bear collided approaching the second turn.  Johnny Black tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Johnny Black, which tired over the concluding stages, was vetted and after being re-vetted following event seven, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Joseph Clarke, the trainer of Johnny Black, regarding the greyhounds performance over the concluding stages.  Mr Clarke stated that Johnny Black was resuming from a seven week spell, after suffering a toe injury and believed that the greyhound may have been under-done for this event.  Mr Clarke also stated that Johnny Black is not a strong 520m runner and his general racing pattern is to tire over the concluding stages. 

Tooka Half, Nitroniun and Lady Alliance were slow to begin.  Nitroniun and July Allen collided soon after the start.  Charlott's Angel and Kouta And Cream collided in the home straight, checking Kouta And Cream.

Silvio Dante was slow to begin.  Speedy Ryder, Dyna Neitz and Dewana Dimie collided on the first turn.  Riviera Cruz, Pinciotti and Silvio Dante collided on the first turn.  Speedy Ryder raced wide approaching the second turn, checking Dyna Neitz, Dewana Dimie and Nareen.  Nareen, Dyna Neitz and Dewana Dimie collided entering the back straight.  Silvio Dante raced wide in the back straight.  Speedy Ryder and Dyna Neitz collided on the home turn.

Penny Worth was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right metacarpal and left hindleg sesamoid injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.
