Steward's Report

Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter, Mr R Hood did not act in any official capacity for this event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Nunniong Plain.

Dr Mino was quick to begin. Mepunga Laser checked off Dyna Harpa soon after the start.  Dyna Harpa crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Aston Duke, Degani, Mepunga Molly and Nunniong Plain which collided; causing Nunniong Plain to race wide.  Aston Duke, Degani and Mepunga Molly raced wide on the second turn.  Kiarni Tiger and Dr Mino collide In the back straigh, checking Dr Mino. Kiarni Tiger raced ungenerously on the third turn.  Kiarni Tiger and Dr Mino collided on the home turn.  Aston Duke clipped the heels of Dyna Harpa and collided with Degani In the home straight.

Kiarni Tiger was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury. The Stewards spoke with Kennel Representitive Mr Jamie Ennis about Kiarni Tiger‘s performance through the third turn. Mr Ennis's well-articulated submissions regarding Kiarni Tiger's injury history, previous performances, racing pattern, general ability and the class of other runners in this race was accepted by Stewards. Mr Ennis further advised that Kiarni Tiger will target either the Healseville straight or larger one-turn tracks for up-coming starts where he should be better suited than two-turn racing. Future performances will be monitored and Mr Ennis was directed to report any further issue in accordance with GAR 75. (Matter Affecting Performance)

A sample was taken from Dr Mino - the winner of the event.
